Yeah, for doing an entire army, black’s the way to go. Plus, too many nooks and crannies. White would take WAY too long.

agreed. White is only good for characters with eye-blisteringly bright paint coats.

@davidvc04 very nice. My one question is what is flow-quill?
3:06 pm on January 22nd, 2010
@highpriestrsw2 It is a brand of lacquer paint and the name is spelled “Floquil”. This brand of paint is wide used to paint model rail road locomotives and cars (cabooses etc.).

@XxSniperRepivxX
These are Reaper Master Series paints. They’re about $3 a bottle in US dollars. If you varnish the model after painting, it will hold up fairly well, but any paint will come off over time with handling.

Your mixing with paint with water section is invaluable. So many tutorials on youtube just say “mix your paint with water” but no one shows how, or to what consistency. For a beginner like me, it was too daunting to try to figure out on my own, so I didn’t do any mixing. I’m going to try it now thanks to you and your tutorial.

@XxSniperRepivxX I paint lord of the rings miniatures for about 5-6 months and i find the paint dose not come off. Tubs of paint the size of the tallarn flesh in this video costs €3. I tried to paint a lego mini figure and it came good.
