Buying future antiques and collectables?

Buying certain items such as action figures and leaving them boxed in storage for many years may result in it one day being worth a lot more. What i’d like to know is are there any websites or publications (in UK) that tip future collectables?

Very few magazines will try to cover the entire gamut of toys out there, and the few that do are not very useful for the collector. Hot Wheels and Barbie, for example, pretty much require their own magazines.

By the way, the days of buying toys and having them worth a mint in a few decades are mostly long gone. Toys from the 90’s are still plentiful, with only minor searching. The only items worth a lot are the ones that were rare to begin with. Even statues, once thought of as a sure-thing investment, are no longer guaranteed to rise in value.

These days, you’re more likely to make money off toys by acting like a stock broker, buying them when they’re cheap and selling them while they’re still hot. But of course, that’s a lot more work.
