Green Lantern #55 is only 50 bucks according to the online comics price guide. a few others worth a little more or less but thats not the point. My adult life is ok but my childhood was awesome. And these were a part of it. I hope to make a few of these going over all my stuff.

Begin College Life with a Netbook

February 26th, 2010 Posted 12:45 pm

Two weeks from now, my oldest son would leave the house and start staying in a dormitory for his college studies. It’s been his dream to enter into a medical school. His wish would soon come true after just a few years of waiting. He successfully passed his college application. He loves to start his schooling. As his father, I would like to support my son for his college studies.

When we heard the good news that my son successfully passed the college application, we immediately made a plan for his career. We had a thanksgiving celebration wherein we invited some relatives and friends. We bought things that he needed for his studies. We did everything for him but we almost forgot something. My son requested us to give him a personal computer that he can use. When I heard about it, a good idea immediately came to my mind. Instead of a desktop computer, I told him to buy him a netbook instead plus a printer. She questioned me what is the similarity of a desktop computer and a netbook. I informed him that he must have a device like this netbook which he can use inside his classroom during his classes. Because he is taking up medicine, lots of his classes has laboratory and off-campus sessions. My son consented and agreed.

He let me choose the perfect netbook for him. Eversince he was small, my son always let me do the choosing of a netbook since he knew I could let him do it.

I do not have time to look in an electronic shop so I just looked on the internet. There was a wide variety of choices. I pondered ordering online would be better. I don’t have any idea that its hard to select the right one. As much as possible, I wouldn’t let my son feel disappointed. I really sat in front of the computer one long evening to be able to find the netbook for him.

After several hours of reviewing specifications from various brands, I was able to discover the Samsung NC10-13B. This small, unique netbook has wondrous features. This Samsung NC10-13B are very effective and useful because of its perfect and high performance structures. Made with a 10.1-inch widescreen display of a 104 x 600 pixel resolution, wide hard drive storage of 160 GB and an expandable 1 GB DDR2 RAM up to 2 GB, this netbook would be a perfect school mate for my son.

He would incredibly love to carry this 2.8 pounds netbook.Equipped with a 6-cell lithium-ion battery, he would probably use it for up to six hours. There’s also a wireless connectivity available for internet access.

This would be the ideal netbook for my son so I began purchased it that same evening. When the day the netbook arrived, I gave him the Samsung NC10-13B. He knew at that moment that he’s really ready to begin his college life.

Computer Guide – Differences Between the Windows Desktops and Apple Systems

Comments Off

June 24th, 2009 Posted 3:41 pm

Computers hit the world by storm. Most everything is now computerized from internal car functions to sophisticated government weapons and security systems. Most home across the world have a computer, and often 2 or more, for all types of functions, including, work, entertainment, Internet and mroe. The old school office filling systems are a thing of the past with modern computer data management systems.

As opposed to several years ago, these days most anyone can afford a quality computer as they have gotten cheaper while becoming more sophisticated and technologically advanced. Cheap computers and cheap laptops of all brands and models, including, Dell computers, HP, Gateway, Apple and most other popular brands are readily available with the many cheap online shopping sites.

In the world of computers consumers basically have two options to choose from that have dominated the computer market, the Windows based PC and the Apple Mac computers.

The PC is a user-friendly utility made for both business and pleasure. It is an amalgam of technical data superimposed with colorfully designed applications. The PC is very functional, as it possesses the requisite and basic programs integral for input, such as Word and Wordpad. The PC is dynamic, as it not only serves the need of the businessman but also the pleasure seeker who relishes the excitement of game play. Even the businessman will satisfy his fancy by playing a trivial amount of “Half-Life.”

The PC is not as static as the popular commercials will have you believe portraying the divergent views between the PC and the Mac. These days a lot of the features that are found on the Mac are also available on the PC and vice-versa.

The Apple Mac is marketed as the young and hip computer and greatly appeals to young people. Even before diving in to the computer, the appearance and design of Macs establishes a ‘fun’ device. Apple is known for producing products that are ‘fun’, or that have that image. With the advent of the enriching design and eclectic I-phone and I-pod, a MAC has become naturally a ‘fun’ product. The Mac, therefore, markets itself as a dynamic brand that exudes fun and commands high gaming performance.

The Mac is therefore a product that is more for pleasure than substantive business. This distinction, as aforementioned, is consonant with what Macs purport to be – a highly visceral, playful, and media oriented device. The Windows PC computer is a more serious and reserved brand designed for function rather than flare. Nevertheless, the PC has its share of dynamic designs to lend credence to its competitive nature with its adversary, the Mac.

If one seeks high end media oriented performance exclusively with basic utilities for word processing and related applications than the platform is the MAC. If one seeks a combination of media applications with dependable word processing and related programs, than the best fit is the PC.
