Meaning of elephant figurine with small elephant inside?

At a thrift store, I bought 2 elephant figurines. One is soapstone I believe and the other is some sort of wood. On both of them the torso area has open holes and you can see a small elephant inside. Is there a meaning/symbol or is it just a baby elephant inside?

Is there anywhere that I can get a list of serial numbers for Rembrandt Bugatti elephant sculptures?

We have a bronze statue of an elephant on a ball that we think is a Bugatti but all we have is a serial number. We want to find out more information about it but we have not been able to find one like it anywhere. Anything would help. Thanks

What is my circus elephant figurine worth?

I have this gold colored circus elephant sitting on an irregularly shaped 1" thick quartz block and measuring approx. 4 1/2" high. It is hand signed by "Ron" with a copyright symbol.
