When affordability and ease of installation are a priority, Bruce flooring provides just the right set of products.  With interlocking hardwood and laminate flooring products, Bruce Flooring is very friendly to the “do it yourself” crowd.  The interlocking technology used in Bruce flooring products forgoes the need for messy and expensive adhesives.  With interlocking tiles, the consumer can easily do the installation themselves, saving a great deal in the process.

Bruce flooring offers a broad selection of all types of flooring.  The Bruce flooring hardwood lineup makes a huge number of options available to the consumer.  With a vast array of products to choose from, Bruce flooring can fulfill almost any design vision.  Hardwood flooring is a great addition to any home, and adds greatly to the overall value of the residence.  Hardwood flooring can endure for many years if properly cared for over the ensuing years.  The primary concern in caring for a hardwood floor is the presence of moisture.  Moisture that wicks up from the subfloor can rot out a hardwood floor.

Preventing the exposure of the hardwood to moisture is the chief concern in maintenance.  Prompt clean up of spills and regular cleaning is a crucial requirement of upkeep with hardwood.  When spills begin to bead up on hardwood floors, this can be a sign that the finish of the floor needs to be replaced.  Be sure to do this soon, because the water damage can rapidly affect the rest of the hardwood.  Cupping and crowning that results from water damage is difficult to reverse, and requires time consuming sanding and planing.  Areas that undergo extreme temperature changes can also put a strain on hardwood flooring.

Laminate flooring is a great alternative to hardwood when the conditions are rough.  Made to resist water damage, laminate flooring will look great for years with very little maintenance.  Pressure sealed against moisture from both the top and the subfloor, laminate flooring will provide years of great looking finish.  Even better, laminate flooring is frequently made to look just like hardwood.  This is wonderful when the beauty of a hardwood is desired, but the maintenance issues involved are not as desirable.  Luckily, Bruce Flooring provides a wide range of both hardwood and laminate flooring.

When cost effectiveness and simple installation are needed, Bruce flooring provides an excellent line of products from which to choose.  With interlocking hardwood and laminate flooring products, Bruce Flooring is a favorite of “do it yourself” consumers.  The interlocking technology used in Bruce flooring products skips the need for potentially hazardous glue.  With interlocking tiles, the consumer can easily do the installation themselves, most likely saving thousands in the process.

Bruce flooring offers a wide range of both hardwood and laminate flooring.  The Bruce flooring hardwood lineup presents an impressive array of wood species, patterns, and colors.  With a huge selection of potential colors and patterns, Bruce flooring can help you realize a broad range of designs.  Hardwood flooring is a great addition to any home, and adds greatly to the overall value of the residence.  Hardwood flooring can endure for many years if properly cared for over the ensuing years.  The primary concern in hardwood maintenance is the problem of water damage.  Moisture build up on the surface of the hardwood, or from the subfloor, can result in warping and cracking over time.

Preventing the exposure of the hardwood to moisture is the chief concern in maintenance.  Prompt clean up of spills and regular cleaning is an important part of keeping a hardwood floor intact.  When spills begin to bead up on hardwood floors, it usually means that the finish has worn through and must be replaced.  Be sure to do this promptly, because the water damage can spread very quickly after the finish has worn away.  Cupping and crowning that results from water damage is difficult to reverse, and requires time consuming sanding and planing.  Areas that undergo extreme temperature changes can also put a strain on hardwood flooring.

Laminate flooring is a wonderful option when potential water damage and a tough climate make hardwood less viable.  Made to resist water damage, laminate flooring will look great for years with very little maintenance.  Pressure sealed against moisture from both the top and the subfloor, laminate flooring will provide years of great looking finish.  Best of all, laminate flooring is frequently made to look just like hardwood.  This is great when the elegance of a hardwood is desired, but the maintenance issues involved are not as desirable.  Luckily, Bruce Flooring provides a great selection of both types of flooring.

How to create a beautiful home

One of the things most people desire is a beautiful home to live in.After all, isn’t it only the normal thing to do.  You spend most of your life at home. You live and have great memories in your home.  So naturally people want a nice place to live in.  Well in this economy it is a little tougher.

It is much more difficult because a lot of people don’t have the extra money to do something.  They can’t just go and buy nice furniture.Or they are unable to completely make the house over.  And they definitely can’t go out and buy a new home.  So I want to share with you some tips from my experience as a  San Diego carpet cleaner.

Now my company gives the method away that I use so you can easily guess it.Carpet cleaning will be one of the top ways for turning your old house into a beautiful house. Not only can you say it is probably one of the top ways, it is also not very expensive.

You all know how bad a house looks when the carpet is dirty and old.  Well if you can’t replace your carpet, clean it.There isn’t a better way for you to do something that will make an old carpet look like new.

Now of course you can run out and buy your own carpet cleaning supplies and do it yourself.  But your best bet is to hire a professional.Having an experienced carpet cleaning company do the job will prove that it is worth it.

They know what is going to need to be done. They not only have the knowledge to clean it, but they know how to make it look like new.  Where if you try to clean your carpets yourself, you could mess up.You could mess it up by not using the right amount of chemicals.  But not a professional.

So if your desire is to make a beautiful home, you might want to look into doing some carpet cleaning.  Of course if you have the funds you could replace your flooring.  For that my Tile in San Diego company would come in handy.

Well the housing boom is over.  Many people have lost a lot of money or a lot of equity in their homes. But for many families, they still are the owners of their own homes. Only problem is now how do you improve on your investment.

Well there are a couple of different methods if you are low on budget that you can do to transform our old house into something new.How you wonder?By performing routine carpet cleaning.  Running my own San Diego carpet company I have seen it first hand. You can transform an old looking house into a beautiful home by doing routine carpet cleaning.

If you are really low on budget and maybe can’t afford a carpet cleaner maybe you can just purchase carpet cleaning supplies.By purchasing carpet cleaning products you will be able to do it yourself.Sure it would be wonderful to have somebody do the carpet cleaning instead of you.But during these tough times you might have to just do some things for yourself. You will be shocked at how much more beautiful the home can look when you do some cleaning.

Now if you have the means to go with a little more budget you can make your home look beautiful in a different way. That way I am referring to is going ahead and replacing your flooring altogether.  My company also does flooring San Diego.Going out and completely putting in new flooring can do wonders to an older house. It really can turn and old looking house into a beautiful milliond dollar home.

In these tough economic times when the value of your home is going down, you want to stop it any way possible.  By doing some simple home improvements can do wonders.Whether it will be routine carpet cleaning that you do.Or if you pull out all the stops and completely replace your floors altogether. It has the ability to completely change the look of your home.  And more importantly it can change the value of a house.Sure you won’t see the rise in home values like during the boom.  But at least you might stop the massive losses everyone else is experiencing.

Use Your Imagination to Design the Home Space of Your Dreams

Some of the most innovative interior decorating ideas can be inspired by something as simple as area rugs. Maybe it’s that subtle colour, rich and deeply woven into the fibers of the design that inspires you to go right out and get a new paint color customized for your favourite room of the house. Maybe the big idea is hiding somewhere in the geometric patterns of some contemporary area rugs that will help you to select a modern lamp shade to polish off that one drab corner of your sitting room. Or perhaps, the area rug you found generates so much excitement in your imagination that you decide to scrap everything to create the room of your dreams.

Wherever you find your inspiration – be it in a colour or a particular decorating style, discount area rugs can add either the final, finishing touch – or give you a process of becoming inspired. After all, interior decorating ideas are everywhere. There is no idea too big, or too small. Opportunities to explore your mind’s eye are all around you. Think outside the rug. Is it round, oval, rectangular or square? What pieces do you still need to find to put outside the rug? A bookshelf?

What about the front entrance? Might you need a runner-style area rug to guide your steps from a fabulous foyer into the posh and elegant dining room? What about when your feet hit the floor first thing in the morning? Are they greeted by a hard unwelcoming surface? No! That’s no way to start your day! Consider instead the luxurious feel of a shag rug in super-soft cotton. Cool in the summer, and cuddly-warm in winter, there’s a reason why this style has endured since it busted out all over (in glamorous gold) in the late 60s and early 70s.

The bathroom is an often un-thought space to place a designer area rug. Why should anyone be relegated to buying a cheap-looking, rubber-backed matching set of boring and predictable toilet rugs and bath mats? That’s just wrong. With washable area rugs in endless sizes and shapes, your family bath can have display the personality that you do. And what’s more, it should. Your bathroom should be a place to indulge in relaxing refinements and luxury. Don’t spoil your Queen Sheba milk and vanilla bath by stepping out of the deep tub of wonderfulness and onto a trashy, plastic-y mess of a typecast bath mat.

Area rugs are forever the most attractive solution to covering hardwoods or ceramic tiling. With quality wall-to-wall carpeting costing so much, and an obvious no-no for anyone with indoor allergies, why would you ever commit to only one colour or style? With area rugs, you can switch it up from season to season, artistically, affordably, almost magically!

The customer service experts at Abingdon Rug can help to guide your early ideas into exploring all the 20,000 in-stock discount area rugs options open to you. Think outside the rug. There lies your most beautiful inspiration.

Epoxy Concrete Paint – Use It Properly

Comments Off

August 25th, 2009 Posted 12:09 pm

The usual target for epoxy paints are basements and garages, since they take heavy traffic and need a paint that can endure it well. Good results can be made on concrete slabs, kennels, interior floors, wooden car trailers, brick pavers, shop floor, laundry room floors and pole barns. This coating can endure dirt, grease, water, oil and many other chemicals that would usually destroy other paint types in no time. Tough resins that are mixed during the application are responsible for this. Since they have such great price to value ratio, they are the best floor coating solution.

Epoxy floor paints come in three types. First, hundred percent solids do not contain solvents that evaporate. Second, solvent based epoxies adhere and penetrate well but they are hazardous to health and need that you ventilate your garage or basement well during application to avoid breathing the fumes that emanate from them. Finally, third type of paint is water bases and it does not have hazrdous fumes, is cheaper, a lot thinner with anti-slip texture. But, a lot of ventilation is needed for these to dry up.

During application and drying of epoxy floor paints, clean the floor with a hard bristled brush and sweep away the debris, then scrub warm soapy water on the concrete floor and sweep it away also. Get a degreaser and scrub it all over the floor so all the soluble contaminants can be rinsed with water. You can check is your epoxy garage surface clean by spraying some water to see will it stick on the flooring. you will then have to leave your coating to dry until the next day. Then simply apply the first layer of paint the next day. Two to three coats are adequate for a good finish. To get rid of those spills and paint drips, you need to have a clean rag made of cotton near you, as well as some epoxy thinner that will clean solvent based paints well.

I love this paint and go for it because it has a clean finish, is resistant to acid and salts, while it is durable and tough in the long run. Before you allow any traffic on the surface, you will have to wait for some time for these to mature, since the proper preparation and application is needed.

Vinyl, Laminate, Wood or Marble – What Floor Do You Want?

Comments Off

August 24th, 2009 Posted 3:03 pm

If your flooring is looking a bit worse for wear, now is probably the right time to make a decision about whether to replace it or not. Making that decision often will depend on the room that requires the work. If it is only a small area you will find there are much greater inexpensive options available as you can buy last of stocks or end of line products. Generally wet areas such as the kitchen or bathroom require a durable material and there are a lot of options available now without breaking the budget.

Amtico Spacia is a high quality floor product. These tiles are non-porous, long lasting with exeptional colour fastness enabling the tiles to retain stunning visual appeal for years to come. Let us examine the reasons why flooring tiles are a perfectly good option.

For kitchen and bathroom areas popular choices include laminate, vinyl and resin compound tiles. The main differences is that laminate tends to be thicker and give a more realistic wood effect without the cost of real wood.

Vinyl comes in a wood effect too and you might be amazed at the sheer number of colours, patterns and styles you can get. Go for a symetrical pattern such as a chessboard effect or go for completely different and contrasting tiles in rooms such as your kitchen, bathroom, WC or laundry room. Many years ago, vinyl tended to come with no more than one or two colour options, but not today. Flooring products have improved greatly over the last decade or so along with the colour, style, finish and cost options available.

Your first decision relates entirely to your budget. For cost efficient options laminate and vinyl are the two most desirable choices. Laminate is generally the least expensive choice. However, you can also find vinyl at comparable prices with a wide range of styles to suit your floor space.

Many people would love to be able to use real wood or real marble for their flooring but overall the cost factor usually makes this out of the question. Don’t despair as there are many vinyl and laminate options that give you that look of wood or marble but without the price tag. There is no comparison in quality but the finished results can be impressive to say the least.

There is always the option of having real wood floors or even marble tiles but it’s all about getting the right look for your home and the overall cost.

Laminate and vinyl flooring have other benefits in that they are very easy to clean and no polishing required as with real wood. All you need is your mop and bucket.

Vinyl comes in rolls and tiles of various sizes and you need to choose what will suit the overall area that you want to cover. You will find in both vinyl and laminate that there are so many colour and style options available that once you have made your decision on the type of floor it will be many hours before you can choose the colour or pattern option that you want.

A good tip for getting an excellent bargain if you only need flooring for a small area or need to re-floor a small section is to look out for ‘clearance’ sales at local suppliers. These clearance sales are often because of over-stocking or end of line products. They do not always have the exact amount you want however so be careful if you want to floor a larger area of your house.

Whatever you choose, make sure you take the time to check out what is on offer and as above, make sure you search out specials! Especially for smaller areas of your house like perhaps the bathroom and toilet areas. There are so many good deals to be had and so many choices to be made.

How To Seal Grout Properly

Comments Off

August 21st, 2009 Posted 6:12 pm

It’s hard to find a floor type that is so durable and easy to maintain as tile floor. But, there are some things you can do to make your floor look the best way possible, like with any other well used surface.

A simple and effective process home owners usually overlook is grout sealing. There are many people that think grout used on glazed tiles does not require to be sealed, but that is a wrong asumption. I know that there are many installers who do not think grout needs to be sealed, but the truth is, you will maintain your floor much easier. This will also help in repelling stains and water from the surface of the grout. This simple process also goes a long way for homeowners who are preparing their home for sale. Sparkling grout lines are a great way to make an impression and make it last.

Read on and learn how to seal grout properly.

In case you are dealing with a compltely new flooring, it is necesary to wait for 30 days before you can start with sealing.

Apply neutral PH cleaner to clean the grout before you start sealing it. To prevent water from entering the joints, use a damp mop when needed. Do not use vinegar or bleach, because they are too strong and will destroy the grout. For an existing floor, you may need to scrub the grout lines with a small brush to remove any stains and dirt. Rinse with clean water and dry the tiles completely.

It can happen that the grout is stained to the extreme and that cleaning can’t help to restore its looks. In those situations, a grout stain pen will work wonders. Pick a color that is closest to the grout color and then you can run it all the way through the grout line. It’s capable of doing two tasks because it has a sealer.

One tip for the end, do not mix the brands. The finished result is much more effective when you re-apply the same product.
