Win Prizes Shopping
June 20th, 2009 Posted 9:09 pm
Internet shopping alert. Here’s something different that I discovered while looking for discount shopping sites. Trader Auction Games has a customers competition where you can win prizes of $50 cash each month just for shopping with one of the shops who sponsor their site. Because it’s new not many shoppers are claiming their free tickets, so, for the members who do, an entry into the shoppers sweepstakes gives them the best chance of winning cash and prizes of any site I have ever seen.
On mining deeper into the site I learnt all about their free auction. This is no joke, it really is free. How they work it is clever. They have designed their free auction so that members of the Trader Auction Games site can sell their unwanted items for points to other members, as members accumulate more points, they then trade up by bidding those points for bigger and better auction items. Members can even use their TAG points to bid on one or more cash auctions. Yes, they bid points to win an auction of real cash money up to $200 in value. When these guys say they have a free auction they aren’t kidding.
Some of the items available in the auction at the time I looked included money, books, clothes, CD’s, DVD’s, perfume, make-up, gift vouchers for stores like Walmart, Avon and Mary Kay beauty products, beach towels, jewellery, baseball collectors cards, toys and other stuff too numerous to mention. It appears to me that Trader Auction Games is trying to be a one-stop shop and doing a very good job of it.
As well as the above, the site has a random prize draw where winners are drawn every few hours. Prizes include cash and other sponsored items from participating shops. Once again Trader Auction Games has stepped outside of the box in developing their random prize draw or sweepstakes. The site guarantees that all members will be selected to win prizes or cash in the TAG City random members prize draw every 2days. Winners are drawn in blocks based on the first letter of their first name. So, all the people whose names start with the letter F may be drawn this time, then 2 hours later all the members whose first names start with L may be drawn and so on until every letter in the alphabet has been drawn. That takes about 48 hours and then the entire process starts over again. As usual, it’s not quite as easy as you would want, the downside is that you only have 2 hours to claim your prize after your name has been drawn. Win up to $500 cash in the TAG City sweepstakes.
I rate the Trader Auction Games site five stars when it comes to shopping, games, competitions and free fun.

Think of all the junk you’ve received (and given). Don’t you wish there was a better way? Well, there is a better way my friend If you want the easy way out consider giving Coffee Gift Baskets.
We all know that aunt Margaret doesn’t give coffee gift baskets. That’s why I’m hear to help.
Everyone has been given a present that is simply horrible. You can donate it to a worthy cause, or post it on www.freecycle.com where everything donated is free to users. You may hide the horrible gift in a box where you will hopefully never run into it again. Whatever you do please do not throw the gift away.
Then, there is re-gifting, a risky and often unsavory practice. Regifting is never a welcomed custom. Especially if the person that gave you the gift finds out. There are numerous ways to put the gift to use, without the awkward and deliberate re-wrapping and passing of the gift.
1. Make a special gift box. Make sure that you put a post-it note on the item, and secure it with tape telling whom the item is from.
2. Items that you cannot use, or you have duplicates of, all get put together in the same box.
3. Make sure to lump together similar items, i.e. electronics.
4. Try to give multiples of a like item. For example favorite films. Take the movies, wrap them individually, and put them in a large popcorn bowl. You can add to the theme of the gift by including popcorn. If you are giving the movies to an adult or family, try upping the gift with a nice bottle of wine. The goal is to avoid spending too much, but make a nice gift. Make sure that you are not giving the gift back to the individual you originally received it from.
Now you know what to do with all those unwanted hunks of utter shiznittle you have gathered through the years.
If you want to end the nightmare of looking for the right gift consider giving a Gift Basket. So head on over to Nectar of Life Organic Coffee Company, they’ve got a great selection of coffee gift baskets and other gifts.

Information About Clocks And Gift Ideas
May 20th, 2009 Posted 8:08 am
Don’t fly over the coot’s nest; get a clock that leaves an impression. In general we like to know what time it is, still some folks forget the dull clocks that hang on the walls and miss out on appointments, etc. When giving a gift, always consider what the person can use, and what will last.
Some of the clocks available today include the twelve songbird chirping clocks. The clock comes with the history of birds. This clock is commemorative and will trademark the different birds from the Northern American hemisphere. The chirping birds will bring joy to the home while telling time.
The colorful-changing clocks will glow and appears in the colors of rainbows, i.e. green, purple, pink, white, etc. the clock changes sequence with every hours and comes with twelve hues. The clock is cordless making it easy to move around, and has a large LCD displaying numbers that makes it easy for those hard of seeing. During the night, turn off the lightening features, or let them shine. What a magnificent gift idea, since most of us enjoy the beautiful rainbows.
Looking for a great gift idea, try the two-timing clock and lamp combo, whereas you touch the lamp and it either shines or shuts off. The lamp is made of ceramic and shaped like a ball and the brass and metal tones bring in a new twist to décor. The shades are made of glass. The clock runs off battery, so cords are not a problem. Save time, energy and space!
Beer lovers might take delight in the No Drinks clock. This idea clock forbids any drinking before five o’ clock, yet each hand that meets an hour has five o’ clock showing. This is a wacky gift will bring a smile to faces, since a man stands up against an object on the clock, looking like he has had too much.
An idea alarm clock is the talking handsets. The handset talks each time the phone rings letting the owner know the callers number. The phone includes an alarm clock, as well as other features. Get a calendar, phone book, caller ID that talks, alarm clock and more rolled into one affordable gift.
Men might take delight in the talking watches. The watch will tell him the time with a single push of the buttons. The watches are gold, silver designed, and each Quartz watch has a chimer, alarm clock, and temperature gauge. The clocks are idea for anyone who has difficulty seeing, or for those men that merely like it big.
If you are buying a gift for someone that has old-timer watches you might consider the Award Frames. These glass frames have wooden trimmings, and will hold items awarded to the person. The frame will hold army metals, insignias from the army uniforms, watches, pictures, ribbons and more.
This brings to mind another gift idea. Some men enjoy the watches that hang from their truffles. The watches come in gold or silver and often have designs on the back of the watch, e.g. a train. This is an idea watch for younger boys that like the old fashion look, or the elders.
Just remember, if you want to give someone a gift, always start by trying to find out what the person wants and needs. There are a lot of clocks and watches available and if you take the time to search for the best offers you will have a great chance to find a great gift that will make leave an impression. A Quick Review Of Amazon Kindle Portable eBook Reader
April 29th, 2009 Posted 9:03 am
This portable ebook reader is no doubt could be very convenient for those who are on holiday. This little handheld reader gadget can store your books up to 200.This is quite a great number of books to read while you are idling away in your holiday. With this device being able to store ‘200′ books, it certainly help to save you room in your carry-on bag.
It has nice feature such as ‘flipping’ the pages electronically. I particularly like this feature as it make one feel that the ebook is almost for real. And if you want to read the book together with your partner, you can enable the ‘Read aloud’ feature and have the ebook read to you both while you both lie on the bed and cuddle close together. Not a bad idea.
The overall look and feel of this ebook reader is great. The device has a pleasing wedge shape that feels like a paperback book. The left side of this device is about as thick as a book’s spine while the right side is thinner, like opened pages.
However, I will like such handheld ebook reader to be water proof because I love to read in my bathroom. I spent about an hour in the bathroom and being able to read the handheld ebook will be a great idea. However, for this version of the Kindle2 eBook reader, it will not be a good idea to make it wet.
Amon all the screen is the thing that I do not quite like. The screen of the device is great and does not dazzle the eye the way those backlit computers do.The screen is not too big actually with only six inches diagonally. That is still tolerable if you can read fairly small print. But if you set the text size to one of the larger options, you will be only be able to read a few paragraphs at any one time.

If You Love Reading, You Will Love eBook
April 11th, 2009 Posted 9:36 am
It brought online bookstores to people. Now Amazon is bringing portable ebook reader to readers and having the device to read them with too. We’re stepping into the future of reading as more people catch on to reading ebooks. It is without doubt that the the Kindle ebook reader has done wonders in paving the way and now we have the Kindle 2, bigger, faster and more powerful. Fasten your seatbelts!
There are several brands of handheld ebook reader to choose from in the market. Having that said, don’t bother to look beyond the top of the pack as many of the rest are still in beta. By far the two most proven brands are the Amazon Kindle and Sony PRS. Both have generated running series and are already into their latter models. The consensus though, is Amazon with its Kindle 2 is fast drawing away from competition with Sony’s flagship PRS – 700 a distant second.
The Kindle ebook reader is in great demand. The availability of stock at Amazon is at best intermittent. The waiting time varies and at this moment they are not taking in overseas orders but some 3rd-party distributers and retailers do ship abroad with due shipping charges and mark-up. These devices are often spotted on eBay and they come with a price premium.
Electronic book readers are both a boon to people and also an environment saviour. Now imagine how many trees Kindle can help save let alone the total effect of all e book reader brands combined.
Kindle ebooks save money too. Savvy readers would realize that Amazon subsidizes its Kindle book sales and provides free sampling of e-books so you are never mistaken about buying a book. That may be string attached to sell its electronic book reader but the bottom line makes sense at the end of the day. Even for those who do not read often, it is a given. That’s on top of all the other good stuff it brings.

Electronic Book Reader Is A Great Gift Idea
April 8th, 2009 Posted 9:14 am
I just ordered one electronic book reader, the Amazon Kindle portable ebook reader. I have been waiting for the next generation device. It is not cheap, as I travel by air almost every other week. Don’t have much room for books – certainly not for more than one.I feel this is great for light reading (magazines, popular fiction etc). If it is too expensive – do not buy it, go use a library instead.
As for button placement and all this other hoop-la, there is likely a good reason it is the way it is – I am certain they have tested it that much. I agree, you would think they could perhaps put together a more design pleasing product(Apple)?). But this ebook reader is a straight forward device that serve one simple purpose. You may not be able to have a touch screen with electronic ink with current technology, you need real estate to hold on to the device without smudging the screen. By the way, they likely want wireless phone connection so folks are more likely to make at the spur of the moment buying decisions (gotta have it now society). It is not easy for the manufacturers to cram all these features into one small device. Just look at mobile phones, even the iphone and Blackberry aren’t any where near perfect and they have been building those things for sometime. iphone has bad calendaring and Blackberry has lousy internet interface (both these things have been refined over the period of years). This will make the competitors busy churning out good products and all this is good for us.
I own the first-generation Kindle and I absolutely love it. I don’t think I’ll jump on the upgrade bandwagon right away, however, since it doesn’t really seem like *that* big of an upgrade for *another* $400. The improved screen refresh and 16 shades of gray is extremely tempting, though. Maybe if I can pawn my old one off on a friend for $150 or something… we shall see.
Kindle 1G is probably more than enough for most if the sole purpose is just to read books. Physically ugly, probably. But enough for most of the time.

Buying A eBook Reader For Yourself
April 8th, 2009 Posted 9:14 am
For almost twenty years, the perfect portable ebook reading hardware has been 5 years away. We are now at the stage where we wait for a cheap enough, lower power enough paper-quality display with long battery life.
Once the ebooks become cheap and affordable, the medium by which we read will also be the medium by which can write and respond. Reading will eventually become a social act eventually. You can see this already with blogs and the online likes.
So, I have been assuming that the ebook reader will mimic the form factor of books: display a page, and maybe make a rustling sound as the page is turned slowly. But it takes the ebook so long to arrive for the market that they may skip book emulation entirely and become general purpose browsers/composers. In any case, they are better with blogs than for books.
Personally, I feel that format is much more critical than the medium. In this world, format (e.g. hardcover, small-print soft-cover, magazine, etc.) gives a whole bunch of cues about the type and depth of the content. Photos that are places in the right place will attract immediate attention. The formats also tell us a lot about age appropriateness. I personally do not see ebooks catching on until they really have a format to them. So perhaps that makes a bunch of different ebook reader niches rather than an e-book monolith.Who knows in the first place.
eBook can become ubiquitous only of the prices of the book content is at an acceptable level. RCA ebook readers have been around for years, but I still do not see people using them on the trains, buses and airplanes. On the other hand, almost everyone of my friend has one of those. Why? Well, that is because we all read Russian. And Russian ebooks are dirt cheap in the first place (if not free).
So, yes, I do hope ebooks jump directly to supporting blog-like content, otherwise we might wait another twenty years before the perfect ebook hardware emerges and gain mass adoption.
