How to add a finish to sand sculptures?
September 9th, 2010 Posted 12:09 am
Say I have a little project going that involves a sand castle in a box. How do I immortalize it? I’ve experimented with hair spray (worthless) and a multipurpose spray adhesive (admirable, but leaves an unattractive white sheen). Is there anything that leaves it looking mostly like sand while keeping it reasonably durable, assuming it stays undisturbed in a corner most of the time? I’m considering including a clay core for added stability.

What can I use to clean marks off on detailed wood figurine?
July 24th, 2010 Posted 10:02 am
I have a wooden fox that has red marks on it (looks like pen but could be paint or marker). I’ve tried nail polish remover and hair spray to get bigger areas cleared off with a q-tip, but there is so much fur detail I cant get into the crevices. Is there a way I can soak it in something without hurting the wood? Or is there a more precise cleaning instrument I can use?
