A quick and easy way to change the look of any home is with a new set of home decor accents. Among the many possibilities are candles, wall hangings and throw pillows. These can all be purchased in several different colors that can be mixed and matched to keep you from getting bored.
Other types of accents are functional in nature as well. For example, tablecloths, napkins and place mats are all ways to add color and freshness to dining rooms and kitchens. Though simple, they can do a lot to perk you up when you enter the room.
Bathrooms can also be perked up with linens. Hand towels that match, for example, look nice and will be pleasing to both you and any guests that use them. Soaps that are scented can be added to make the space fragrant.
If you want to perk up the nursery, you can try some designer baby bedding. This can be a great way to indulge both your desire to pamper your child and to home decorate. There is no need to feel guilty about the purchase. Designer bedding is often better quality than the cheaper variety. Higher quality bedding will last longer and keep your baby warmer.
While you are at it, why not add some new color and a fresh look to your own room with a new bedding collection? There is no question that the bedroom looks much better when the comforter, sheets and pillowcases all match. You might consider some new curtains or drapes at the same time.
A nice finishing touch to any room are some fresh cut flowers. There is something really satisfying about taking some time to get new flowers for your home each week. This is an accent that adds to the ambiance with both its beauty and aroma.
Speaking of aromas, incense or diffusers are another possibility for changing the feel of a room. You can dabble in aromatherapy and get scents that are therapeutic. Try some that are more relaxing for the bedroom or for taking a bath. With a little imagination and not too much money, you can feel like you have a new home.

Posibilities You Can Get With Simple Corner Shower Stall
November 24th, 2009 Posted 4:22 pm
If you thought that you would have the only choice of just a simple shower for your new home, you would realize you were wrong. Present day showers come in a large variety of shape and size with in-built features to offer a lavish bath beyond imagination.
You may have a lone single shower or it could be just one of the accessories of a larger set up for your bathtub. The two factors that restrict you choice are: your budget and the available space for the shower
If space is tight, all you may be able to fit is a stand-alone shower stall. With a little extra space, and the need for somewhere to soak your stresses away, the shower/tub combo is the right choice. Most of the modern homes with two bedrooms or a ranch with luxurious master suits need to have a separate stand-alone exclusive shower as there is enough space for a soaking tub. You get showers in prefabricated designs or you can have them tailored to suit your style and space.
If you have a standard stall in the form of a square or a circle, prefab will suit you best. Also, you can get fiberglass shower stalls. On the other hand if you have a country house kind of a plan or are thinking on the lines of having one, you may need a custom built arrangement to fit specific dimensions, especially around the corners. No matter what style you are looking for, showers are available in a multitude of materials.
The most important thing to ensure is that the material chosen is waterproof and durable.
And this is the same if you are remodeling or choosing a new shower stall.Prefabricated units are typically made of fiberglass-reinforced acrylic, plastic laminate or synthetic marble. Custom built shower stalls can use a number of materials that includes stone, marble, granite or ceramic tiles.
Apart from adding to the aesthetics of the place, these materials are flexible to the extent of being cut to any required size to suit your specific designs.Whatever type of shower you are building, it is important to take in the entire bathroom environment to ensure a relaxing and stress-free atmosphere.

Epoxy Concrete Paint – Use It Properly
August 25th, 2009 Posted 12:09 pm
The usual target for epoxy paints are basements and garages, since they take heavy traffic and need a paint that can endure it well. Good results can be made on concrete slabs, kennels, interior floors, wooden car trailers, brick pavers, shop floor, laundry room floors and pole barns. This coating can endure dirt, grease, water, oil and many other chemicals that would usually destroy other paint types in no time. Tough resins that are mixed during the application are responsible for this. Since they have such great price to value ratio, they are the best floor coating solution.
Epoxy floor paints come in three types. First, hundred percent solids do not contain solvents that evaporate. Second, solvent based epoxies adhere and penetrate well but they are hazardous to health and need that you ventilate your garage or basement well during application to avoid breathing the fumes that emanate from them. Finally, third type of paint is water bases and it does not have hazrdous fumes, is cheaper, a lot thinner with anti-slip texture. But, a lot of ventilation is needed for these to dry up.
During application and drying of epoxy floor paints, clean the floor with a hard bristled brush and sweep away the debris, then scrub warm soapy water on the concrete floor and sweep it away also. Get a degreaser and scrub it all over the floor so all the soluble contaminants can be rinsed with water. You can check is your epoxy garage surface clean by spraying some water to see will it stick on the flooring. you will then have to leave your coating to dry until the next day. Then simply apply the first layer of paint the next day. Two to three coats are adequate for a good finish. To get rid of those spills and paint drips, you need to have a clean rag made of cotton near you, as well as some epoxy thinner that will clean solvent based paints well.
I love this paint and go for it because it has a clean finish, is resistant to acid and salts, while it is durable and tough in the long run. Before you allow any traffic on the surface, you will have to wait for some time for these to mature, since the proper preparation and application is needed.
