Pepper Spray Comes in Many Forms and Are Appropriate for Different Things

With all of the threats of crime in the world today, it is important to be able to defend yourself. Pepper spray is a [wonderful|perfect|suitable] alternative of self defense. Not only is it non-lethal but it is highly effective. Though the important components may be similar, not all pepper sprays are in fact the same. The things that puts them apart the most is their dispersal patterns and how they are employed.

The first type of pepper spray we’ll look at is actually in the form of foam. Pepper foam works just as well as a normal pepper spray except that it is foam, like shaving cream. The greatest benefit of pepper foam is that it has almost no blow back, so that if it is windy, it won’t get blown back onto you.

Another type of pepper spray is one that is dispersed in a fog form. This type of pepper spray is very unusable for the average consumer. It would only be workable for crowd control or even to operate against several aggressors at once. As it is fog, the chances of the wind carrying it back are extremely high.

A more sensible pepper spray and the most accepted, is one that is dispersed through what is called a “forced cone.” As you can presume, the pepper spray comes out of the can in a cone shaped pattern. This helps to maximize the likelihood of hitting the target. The pepper spray is dispersed in a mist so that it will more effectively saturate the target’s skin and membranes. Blow back is not much of an alarm even though the pepper spray is dispersed in a mist.

Yet another dispersal method for pepper spray is the broken stream. These forms of pepper spray are similar to that of a high powered squirt gun, spraying pepper spray in a stream. This type of pepper spray is great to have in your car in case you need to spray it through a cracked window at a carjacker. Blow back is practically nothing.

As with any pepper spray, it is vital to remember that you try to target the face for the highest effectiveness.

[Decide|Settle on|Choose] which of these pepper sprays would work best for you, then check your local news, and [organize|plan] your self defense.

To Keep Both Yourself and Your Offender Free From Harm, Use a Tazer

For many centuries, weapons for self defense were very likely to kill someone or at least inflict horrifying wounds. Life threatening situations often ended with someone dead. But these days there are means of defense that won’t take human life and allow the victim to make their escape. The Tazer is the best of these less than lethal weapons.

This type of stun gun is revolutionary as it shoots darts from compressed nitrogen cartridges. The darts are attached to insulated wires and will pierce the skin through up to an inch of clothing. Then, at least 50,000 volts of electricity will shock the individual, shocking their nervous system, rapidly contracting their muscles, and robbing them of any voluntary movement.

The great thing about a Tazer is that it will shoot the darts and shock someone from fifteen feet away, but you don’t have to shoot the darts. This weapon comes with another stunning option. Having the electrodes on the tip jab into your attacker’s skin will have the tazer acting like a traditional stun gun.

If you own a Tazer, then you should make sure that the batteries always have a charge. There couldn’t be anything worse than to need your self defense weapon and find it not working. Your weapon should always be kept close at hand, as you never know when you might need it. A belt holster is an ideal place because again, having your weapon out of reach when you need it most is quite devastating.

If you are walking through the city and someone approaches you and threats you in some way, then there are some key places to aim your Tazer. While shooting them anywhere will do the trick, a solid shot to the torso is best. And if you choose to use it like a traditional stun gun, then you should jab it just below the rib cage or into the neck.

It is a dangerous world out there, so you should prepare yourself. You will always be kept free from harm if you are ready to be assailed, whether or not you get put in that situation.
