I have a wooden fox that has red marks on it (looks like pen but could be paint or marker). I’ve tried nail polish remover and hair spray to get bigger areas cleared off with a q-tip, but there is so much fur detail I cant get into the crevices. Is there a way I can soak it in something without hurting the wood? Or is there a more precise cleaning instrument I can use?

How do you clean a "Cherished Teddy" figurine?

I know it sounds stupid, but…

I have one that is mostly white (a swan w/ 2 bears sitting on it’s back) and it is almost GRAY from years of being handled and sitting on a shelf collecting dust. I can’t seem to get the dirt out from between the little grooves in the "hair" (or, in the case, I guess, the "feathers"). I’ve tried a wet Q-Tip but it didn’t do much.

Anyone have auny suggestions as to what kind of chemicals or solutions I could use, or any other techniques to get the dust and dirt off and out from between those tiny little porcelain grooves??

Thanks!
