Comics, Action Figures, Stamps and Money – Collectables Part 1
August 19th, 2010 Posted 12:00 am
These things may not be worth a lot but they are priceless to me. Green Lantern #55 is only 50 bucks according to the online comics price guide. a few others worth a little more or less but thats not the point. My adult life is ok but my childhood was awesome. And these were a part of it. I hope to make a few of these going over all my stuff.

Military Sunglasses – Is It For You?
November 6th, 2009 Posted 8:52 am
Trendy sunglasses can be seen every day on people. But sunglasses have different function as well. Why military sunglasses?
Military sunglasses are worn in different conditions as compared to the sunglasses we buy for casual wear. Full blockage of UV radiations and anti-glare properties best define this kind of items. Moreover, the concern for fashion is seriously lower since applicability comes first: military sunglasses need to be functional and resistant, both in terms of frames and lenses. Given the versatility of missions with night and day challenges, military sunglasses are designed with interchangeable lenses that correspond to the Military Fragmentation standards. The lenses are usually made of polycarbonate that is lightweight and shatterproof.
Since all the radiations in the UV spectrum are kept away from the eye by the polycarbonate lenses, blurred vision and eye dryness are no longer related to sun exposure. Furthermore, military sunglasses require well designed frames too, as they have to be able to absorb shocks and show durability for harsh usage conditions. Field operations, the impossibility to care for the eyewear constantly and the action of the elements can put a lot of stress on military sunglasses, and unless they are well designed they will not last for extended wear. Here are some more elements that make military sunglasses stand apart.
First of all, military sunglasses include all sorts of elements meant to insure a good comfort level. Temple tips and nose pieces provide a good fit without any discomfort for extended wear. Moreover, in special movement conditions, the wraparound shape ensures that the sunglasses remain in place. Besides the shape of the frame, some military sunglasses also have adjustable straps to be tied around the head to keep the glasses in place and the user’s eyes protected. Lots of consumer categories presently rely on military sunglasses for casual wear, and they certainly see the difference in quality.
The resistance of the items and the superiority of protection make such items eligible for almost anyone. There is however a big difference between the real military sunglasses and fashionable imitations that copy the look but not the features. The inspiration is obvious even for an amateur’s eye, but you ought to check for more than the good look. The type of filters incorporated and the reputation of the producers could also be conclusive. Make good choices, but don’t waste your money on military sunglasses to wear as headbands.

Kids Sunglasses – A Shopping Tip
October 19th, 2009 Posted 4:08 pm
Sunglasses can be seen on a lot of adults, but there is an other use of sunglasses…
What is the connection in between our kids and sunglasses?
Kids sunglasses are not a fashion statement but a means to insure eye safety on bright sunny days. Kids spend a lot of time outdoors and the impact of direct sunlight on the eyes is very harmful without adequate protection. Careless sun exposure may lead to the appearance of cataract and other crystalline dysfunctions. Don’t treat such items as toys; go for the best quality even if the prices may be high. The shade or the color are less important if the lenses include the right light filters for maximum blockage of the radiations.
Most kids sunglasses are colorful and fashionable catching the interest of the young users in the items. Well reputed companies have actually designed special niches for children providing sophisticated colors from tortoise and black to green and blue. Moreover, the diversity of shapes is a delight too; besides the traditional oval, round and rectangular models, you can find geometric shapes and cat-eye kids sunglasses. Moreover, there is a permanent tendency to imitate adult eyewear and the plastic and metal frames often prove the impact of fashion on this kind of products.
Optical shops and specialty stores provide comprehensive collections of kids sunglasses. For a good eyeglass selection you can also make a doctor appointment and check the eyes health condition too. Moreover, a specialist may also give some trustworthy recommendations for the purchase of kids sunglasses, which could prove quite useful when shopping. Try an optical shop in the dedicated children area and the entire adventure will be a source of great fun for your siblings. Sometimes it may also be necessary to buy some accessories together with the sunglasses and the optician should recommend you what is practical and necessary.
Protective cases, cleaning cloths and solutions are the accessories that work well with kids sunglasses. You can also buy some retainers or cords to prevent the sunglasses from falling if kicked off. Check the kids sunglasses for the FDA shatter-proofness before making a purchase. If they don’t resist to impact your child’s safety could be in danger in case of breakage. Consider the above suggestions and you’ll make a nice and safe choice for your child. Last but not least, check the sunglasses periodically to detect decay signs, and if there is any damage, replace them.
