Crystal Figurines That Capture Your Heart

Ahhhh do your want your heart stolen away?  Kidding, but that might happen when you get a good look at some of the crystal figurines you can find on the Internet.  There are some really superb figurines that will find a place in your heart the moment you lay eyes on them.  Horses perhaps?  Maybe a soaring eagle, a tiny crab, a rooster or a rhino – all these crystal figurines are readily available and looking to be a part of your life.

The history of crystal is really interesting.  Did you know that crystal actually dates by thousands of years?  During Mesopotamian times they used a process that involved lead oxide to make it glitter and shine even more.  At one time rock crystal was used, but that was not only way more expensive, but harder to work with.  It also didn’t have the ability to refract light in the same stunning manner.  Wanting to keep an eye on the bottom line, that was rapidly phased out.

Over the years since then many entrepreneurs have dabbled in making crystal and finally in the later 1600's George Ravenscroft came up with a different method of adding lead oxide that made it easier to work with and more attractive.  And here's a name you will immediately recognize.  Daniel Swarovski (Swarovski crystal) patented a machine that cut stones to perfection. Things only got better from there, and now today, you can see the fine crystal figurines that have evolved.
